Dental Implants

At Chalet Dental, we can help you get back the full function and beauty of your smile thanks to dental implants.

We use dental implants to replace missing teeth, meaning you can get back to eating, talking, and smiling like normal.

If you have one or more missing teeth, our Yakima, WA dental team can use dental implants to replace the teeth. Implants are a permanent restoration that provide function and strength, meaning you can get back to enjoying all the things you did before your missing tooth.

What Are Dental Implants?

A dental implant is a tooth replacement option that looks and feels just like your natural teeth. There are three parts to a dental implant: the post, the abutment, and the restoration.

The post of the implant is what we put into your gum to serve as a replacement tooth root. It’s made of titanium, a biocompatible material, so the post can fuse with the jaw bone. The abutment sits on top of the post and sticks out from the gums, allowing us to attach the restoration. The restoration is typically a crown, although the crown could be attached to an appliance like a bridge if we are replacing multiple teeth.

Benefits Of Implants

Dental implants offer our patients a number of benefits, whether they’re missing one tooth or many. These are just a few of the pluses of dental implants.

  • Implants look and feel like natural teeth, and are just as strong
  • Implants help prevent bone loss that can happen when teeth are missing
  • A full smile, aided by dental implants, can prevent facial sagging
  • Patients with implants can eat, drink, brush, talk, and smile like normal
  • With proper care, dental implants can last many years

If you’re missing teeth, talk to the Chalet Dental team to learn about your replacement options and to discuss if dental implants would be right for you.

Single-Tooth Implant

Even a single missing tooth can be a detriment to your overall oral health. The team at Chalet Dental can use single-tooth implants to give you a complete smile again.

Dental implants are an ideal way to replace a single missing tooth. Using a titanium post as a replacement root, we’re able to prevent any shifting of your natural teeth and weakening of your jaw bone. Once the post fuses with your bone, you’ll have a strong and permanent base for the restoration we’ll put on top, typically a dental crown. Once the process is complete, you’ll have a replacement tooth that looks, feels, and functions just like your natural teeth.

Implant-Supported Bridge

If you’re missing a couple of teeth in a row and need a dental bridge, our team may recommend an implant-supported bridge. This appliance can help you maintain facial shape and avoid deterioration of your jaw bone.

Unlike a traditional dental bridge, an implant-supported bridge is a permanent appliance. We use the implants to ensure continued health of your jaw bone and surrounding teeth. Your new bridge will complete your smile and function just like your natural teeth, so you can smile, talk, eat, and more just like normal.

Implant-Supported Dentures

For patients who need dentures due to missing most or all of their teeth, implant-supported dentures can provide a stronger, more secure-feeling appliance.

Implant-supported dentures are sometimes referred to as All-On-4 or All-On-6 dentures. This number refers to the number of dental implants that we place in your jaw bone. Once placed and healed, we add an abutment that allows you to “click” your dentures into place on the implants. With implant-supported dentures, you can leave behind the messy adhesives typically associated with dentures and feel secure in your new smile.
