What Is General Dentistry?
General dentistry includes foundational dental procedures that range from cleaning to dental implants.
At Chalet Dental, we offer a wide range of dental services that help you get and keep a healthy and beautiful smile. Whether you just need to come in for a biannual cleaning or you need restorative work to get your teeth back in shape, our team is here for you.
Cleanings & Exams
Visit our office twice a year for an oral exam and thorough teeth cleaning.
The recommendation for teeth cleaning is to visit a dentist every six months. During your biannual appointment, we will look at your teeth for signs of wear or decay, take any needed x-rays, check for jaw issues like TMD, and perform an oral cancer screening. Once your exam is complete, your dental hygienist will clean your teeth, making sure to remove all plaque and polish them to a stunning shine.
Digital x-rays allow our team to quickly and accurately check for signs of potential problems and develop a treatment plan while you wait.
Unlike the x-rays of the past, digital x-rays don’t require development. The film we use transmits the images directly to our computer, so we have an almost instant view of your teeth and jaw structures. Digital x-rays are faster and more comfortable, too.
We use dental crowns to cover chips and cracks, protect large fillings, and complete your smile when you’ve had a dental implant placed.
A dental crown, also called a cap, is a natural-looking cover for a tooth that needs additional protection. A crown is a permanent restoration that we bond to your tooth, so with proper care, it will last you for a long time.
A dental bridge is used to close gaps caused by missing teeth, whether one or many.
If you’re missing one tooth or multiple teeth in a row, a dental bridge can be a good way to give you back the full function of your smile. A bridge is an appliance that is fitted with natural-looking false teeth. It attaches to your natural teeth on either side of the gap to complete your smile.
Pediatric dentistry is the practice of helping children from infancy to adolescence care for their teeth and gums. At Chalet Dental, we provide comprehensive dental care for children of all ages and help to encourage a positive attitude toward oral health.
We understand that children can be anxious about dental visits, which is why we strive to make our office a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Our dentists, hygienists, and other team members are all friendly and patient with young patients. We’ll explain everything we’re doing at every step, and give plenty of time for parents or young patients to ask questions. Our goal is to help your child feel comfortable and establish a healthy relationship with dentistry from an early age.
Practicing Prevention At Home
A good oral healthcare routine is key to keeping your smile bright and beautiful. That’s why we stress the importance of at-home dental care.
In addition to visiting our office every six months, we encourage you to speak with our team about how to care for your teeth in between visits. In addition to brushing twice a day for at least two minutes and flossing daily, we may have suggestions such as the best type of toothbrush or toothpaste for your needs. We are always happy to help you make the most of your at-home oral hygiene routine.
From cleanings and crowns to dental implants and whole smile makeovers, the team at Chalet Dental is here to be your partner in dental care. Call us today to schedule your appointment. We can’t wait to see your smile!
